Initial Comments:
This report is the result of an unannounced recertification that was initiated on July 12, 2021, and completed on July 19, 2021, at UPMC Hamot (Transplant Program) by the Pennsylvania Department of Health - Division of Acute and Ambulatory Care at the request of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). It was determined that the facility was in compliance with Part 482 - Conditions of Participation For Hospital - Subpart E - Requirements for Specialty Hospital - 482.68 Special requirements for transplant centers.
The recertification survey included the following types of organ transplant programs:
AKO - Adult Kidney-only
